Solid Sterling Doberman Pinscher Club of America High Scoring Dog Medal for 1977

Description

This extraordinary and possibly unique sterling silver medal was produced by The Doberman Pinscher Club of America as the award for the “HIGH SCORING DOG / DPCH” on October 15, 1977.  The obverse shows a bas relief Doberman in profile with the words
DOBERMAN PINSCHER CLUB OF
AMERICA
surrounding it.  The reverse shows a standing Doberman also in bas relief with the words
HIGH SCORING DOG DPCH
and the date 10-13-77 engraved above and below the dog.  The medal has a attached ring and loop for hanging the medal (this also tests sterling).  The medal is 2 3/8″ in diameter and is 3/8″ thick (at the thickest point).  It weighs116.9 grams.
